Background:

Several cosmetic hair conditions can be traced back to conditions affecting the scalp, hair follicle and hair shaft.  Specifically, the moisturization and inflammation state of the scalp may lead to hair thinning, oiliness or other cosmetically undesirable conditions.  Additionally, consumers with coarse, curly or textured hair face additional challenges associated with inadequate hair products.  This organization is seeking non-prescription products or late-stage technologies with demonstrated efficacy against adverse scalp or hair conditions for use by consumers.

Constraints:

Solutions should:

  • Be in late stage development or in limited commercial distribution.
  • Be effective in creating a healthy scalp, follicle or hair shaft.
  • Be free from animal products and use clean ingredients.
  • Be geared toward treatment rather than hiding damage.
  • Ideally be free from sulfates.

Possible Solution Areas:

Non-prescription products or technologies that treat underlying conditions leading to hair or scalp damage are of interest.  Examples may include but are not limited to novel delivery platforms, devices, and products for the improvement of inflammation, hydration/moisturization, and volume.  Solutions should not be styling products without dermocosmetic benefit.

Desired outcome of the solution:

Interested in acquisition or partnership.

Field of use and intended applications:

Consumer hair care
