Seeking: Easy to Clean Coatings

Overview:

This global company is seeking easy-to-clean (ETC) coatings that are durable, resistant to high temperatures and PFAS free.

Background:

This yet2 client has explored technologies and processes to enable ETC surfaces on a range of metallic substrates but many targets fail because of their poor resistance to high temperatures, their containment of PFAS or their lack of durability.  The desired solution must be durable & abrasion resistant, PFAS free, resistant to high temperatures and food contact safe.

Key criteria:

• Thermal Range – Minimum 350^oC, but temperatures exceeding 450^oC can also be expected
• Surface Properties – Oleophobic & Hydrophobic, Easy-to-Clean
• Durable and abrasion resistant
• PFAS free
• Food contact safe
• Cost effective

Development Stage:

Preference will be given to solutions with prototypes or samples that can be tested, however earlier stage solutions with demonstrated efficacy data are also of interest.
