Overview:
This organization is seeking sustainable materials for primary and secondary packaging of consumer products.
Background:
The organization recognizes that their current packaging for the wide variety of consumer products that they manufacture and ship directly to consumers may not be optimized for sustainability. To remedy this and reduce their carbon footprint, they are interested in examining near-term and longer-term (4-5 year) packaging materials/innovations that have a clear benefit with regards to being sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Criteria:
- Must have an obvious sustainability-related benefit – recyclability, reusability, composability, etc.
- Compatible with variety of formats including jars, tubes, packets, and pumps
- Well-suited for a premium looking product
- Scalable with no hard-to-source materials
- Cost-effective
