Overview:

yet2 client is interested in partnering with companies that own significant functional health brands in the US, Japan or Brazil markets.  Our client’s goal is to extend gum and candy product lines into 5 areas of functional benefit – Mouth/breath freshening; oral care (mouth/teeth); energy, focus, and tension; gut health, beauty, and others such as muscle performance.

Background:

The client is a major player in the food industry who is interested in technologies that will extend its gum and candy category into new benefits. The client has several leading brands they wish to enhance thru partnerships with functional health brand owners.

Constraints:

Must have:

  • Brands (Companies) that would be willing to partner with the client to create functional edible confections in this space with a consumer winning proposition.
  • Brands should have a substantial footprint in the US, Japan or Brazil.

Nice to have:

  • Brands / technology bundles that have approval or a pathway to approval for GRAS or Novel Foods.
  • Brands with a global footprint.
  • Need for clinical data (will focus on substantiation through consumer benefit and feedback).

In scope:

  • OTC, Supplements, Food, Cosmetic, General health, or brands that have a consumer connection to oral health, routines and mood and energy.

Out of Scope

  • Prescription brands and ingredients, ingredients with no pathway to GRAS or novel foods.
  • Technologies that focus on ingredients only rather than finished product and/or brands and partners outside the US unless big global players.

The desired outcome is to partner with brand owners to create brand extensions that are win-win for the Client and the partner, and that offer a new benefit or value proposition to consumers.  The solutions should be family-friendly, fit to the overall client brand, and have a compelling story.
